Chapter 4. Takeaways

Reading the amazing stories of these lionhearts is breath-taking and sure shot motivating. However, this motivation should not be short timed, it should act as the igniting force to get up from that seat and achieve something remarkable. These inspirations should help us crave a path for that long lost dream and bring it to reality. If it is one thing that we have learnt from the lives of these heroes is that, giving up, caving in to insults, failures are never the answer to any accomplishment. One setback does not define you; one setback should not deter you from your ladder to success. Yes, history does capture only failures nonetheless it also captures your victory doubling the glorification if you get back up stronger from them failures.

If our armed forces had given up at the time of the war, many states would have been removed from the map of India. If the scientist conducting the nuclear test at Pokhran after one failure, India would not have been a nuclear power today. If the researchers at ISRO gave up after their unsuccessful attempts and budget concerns, India would not have been a leading space power today. If Arunima Sinha lost all her hope and left her life to faith, she would not be able to climb Mt Everest two years later. If MS Dhoni had listened to other and left his dreams, he would not be captain cool today. If MC Mary Kom had given up on her dream after becoming a mother, she would not have been the boxing queen of India today.

History is filled with recitals of people who were adamant on their dreams and went to great heights to achieve them, no matter how rough the journey became. Even you can do this, yes you the one reading this. “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift; that is why it is called the present”.

C hange, the only constant in our equation of life. An inevitable force that will occur in our lives sooner or later and the faster we accept this truth the easier it becomes to get along with it. Nevertheless, it is not the change that changes our lives, i t is the way in which we cope with it that does.
