THE SMOOTH RIDE
Hey there folks! I hope all of you are staying safe and staying happy!
The time we spent in our schools is priceless and no force in this world can bring that back. However, we can cherish these treasured memories of ours by not losing our inner child and recollecting those long-lost moments. Recalling our school days is like riding on a great roller coaster ride furthermore, this whole journey cannot be experienced in just one blog. Thus, let us dig deeper into our childhood, or as the Autobots say let's Rev Up and Roll Out.
School, a place we all hated and loved at the same time. It was our small little kingdom; a simple world with simple rules, isolated from the hullabaloo of life. Nonetheless, the feeling of joy and excitement from our school days is not shared by all. Diverse people, diverse experiences. Speaking from my experience my school days were splendiferous.
As we grow, we tend to forget most of the mischievous memories of our younger days. However, the few that remain become the lion's share. For me, school was one means to meet my friends, teachers and have some fun all together.
One of the first thing that strikes our mind as soon as the topic of school onsets, is the time when our class teacher used to appoint us as the class monitor in her absence. The mere pleasure of this small opportunity would overjoy any primary student. The ecstasy that followed is unprecedented-the authority to write the names of all our talkative friends on the blackboard along with applying all our fancy graffiti skills.
Every morning, reaching your classroom early to occupy the same bench and save the adjacent for your friend, even though going through all this trouble when the class teacher arrived in the class she would allocate the seating according to the roll numbers. That was the worst feeling. However, little did the teacher anticipate that no matter how many seating arrangements she changed, a talkative class always remains a talkative class.
To top it all off were the memories of the lunch break or the recess. These were among the best forty to forty-five minutes of the day. It was in these very moments that all the laziness, the lethargy of a school day would disappear. That was the time we could indulge in our favourite delicacies along with having some fun on the playground.
These unparalleled experiences seem to be lost in today's digital and isolated world. Today, school is waking up, switching on the computer, logging in and relaxing in our comfy pj's. Online classes now start with an "am I audible students?" and end on the chat window. The teacher that once used to scold her children to stop talking, now longs for her students to un-mute and interact in the class.
Even though these are pressing times, the pandemic has shown us, no matter how difficult the situation may seem, life always has a creative way of finding its solution.
School days were priceless and many first things happened in school.
